Two projects.
Distinct perspectives.

We look at the spatial ideas behind the images. Each project source leads directly to its design team.

Aesop Duke of York Square

Twelve arches radiate from a central column. Rose-toned clay plaster and polished steel give the compact store a distinct material character, with a circular basin at its center.

Ideas for your design

Let an existing column become an organizing element. A product demonstration point can shape both the furniture and the customer journey.

Apple Marina Bay Sands

Foster + Partners with Apple

A glass dome places the retail floor within panoramic views of Marina Bay. An oculus and concentric baffles shape daylight, while open tables keep the interior visually connected.

Ideas for your design

Design display, daylight and views together. The surrounding landscape can become part of a brand experience when fixtures preserve clear sightlines.

Editorial selectionThese buildings are projects by the named architecture teams. Ladenbau Studio selected them for inspiration and study; they are not part of our own project portfolio. The design notes are our editorial observations.

02 / Design insights

From inspiration
to your own design.

Our design notes explore the themes of the selection. They are editorial considerations for developing your own project.

01

Start with the product.

Eye level, touch and consultation shape the display. Consider product dimensions and changing assortments when designing the furniture.

02

Express the brand through materials.

A precise, limited palette can do more than extra graphics. Choose surfaces with their lighting, cleaning and daily wear in mind.

03

Follow the journey into the details.

Plan entry, discovery, advice and purchase as a connected sequence. Checkout, storage and replenishment must work within the same concept.
